My mother likes craft very much and she always makes something everyday. I would like to introduce her recent works. She made a lot of owls from Japanese style pattern clothes and she put them on the branches from the tree. There is a big tree in my house garden and it is paulownia tree. She decolated it in front of entrance in my home. Also she decolated a lot places in rooms, grand father’s house and so on. We say “FUKUROU” in Japanese and it has the other meaning and it is “don’t get trouble”, because “FU” means “don’t” and ” KUROU” means ” trouble” in Japanese so it become good charm

私の母は、手芸が大好きで毎日何かを作っています。最近作った作品を紹介したいと思います。最近は、和柄の布を使ったフクロウをたくさん作って、それを木の枝に乗せたものを作っていました。写真を見てもらえばわかるように、家の玄関前には、かなり大きな木の枝にたくさんのフクロウがいます(笑)この枝は桐の木の枝で、家の庭にある大きな木のひとつです。２０近くの作品を作っていて、部屋のありとあらゆるところに飾られています。飾りきれなくなり、祖父の家やおばさんの家や私の友達の家にまで飾られています。フクロウのもう一つの意味として、「不苦労」と言われて縁起がいいとされてます。母はこの縁起のいい言葉を各デコレーションに漢字で書いて飾ってます。他にも、「福朗」バージョンもあります(笑)これらの作品を見るたびに本当に感動します！
