"Clare"

I'd like to introduce a cute British girl for a monthly guest of December.
Clare came to Japan for half business and half pleasure.
She worked for NGOand had a seminers in Sendai and some places of Tokyo, after that she stayed at Andon for few days.
She lives in Edinburgh. I traveled there last June and was very impressedwith their beautiful green country : )She liked to live there, too.
I was compatible with her in many things so I enjoyed talking with her verymuch.
When she was leaving, I asked her which hotel she stayed before staying
Andon and she said "Hill Top Hotel" in Ochanomizu for few nights...I used towork there before working for Andon...! What a coincidence!!

"He is 8 month years old!!"

Very cute babies were staying in the Andon in this month! One of baby's name is Murray from Australia :)
He is 8 month years old!! He can't walk yet but stand up by myself!!
One more baby's name is Louie and he is also from Australia but his father is from Spain.
Babies gave us big big happy smiling every morning and night time... it make us sooo happy and god healing.
Thank you for your lovely smiling and fun time!!! I hope they visit to Japan again and we can talk to them next time ;)

★This is Kerstin from Zurich in Switzerland!

She was in Japan for short term because it was for transfar for her flight.

Her destination is Guam to scuba diving!!
This is her 2nd stay, just arrived from Guam before go back to home.
It’s very cold in Japan but she said that she enjoyed scuba diving with nice wether : )
I want to scuba diving too!! because since I got scuba diving license I have never tried....
I was worried about that she might catch cold here...

"Best friends"

I would like to introduce four wonderful guests from Spain for a monthly guests of November. They were unforgettable guests for me.
They were congenial friends as they had have known each others over for 10 years! They stayed with us total for 12 nights and we really liked their polite and friendly personalities.
They took part in our tea ceremony during their stay and I was very surprised with their skills,,! It was their first time to do tea ceremony, however, they listened to tea master's advice carefully and memorized the procedures, and they did very very well,,! The tea master, Mr. Soyu was also really surprised with them,,,!
When they checked-out, they handed us a letter which were wrote for Mr. Soyu. I gave it to him after they left and he was so impressed with their messages.
Ruben, Gustavo, Francisco and Agustin, Thank you very much for staying with us and such a kind messages.

★Madeleine Bent family!!★

I would like to introduce very nice family from Australia! They were traveled in Japan about 2 weeks for three kids and parents.
They were repeater and visited to the Andon before!!
They went to Tokyo Disney Sea and Tokyo Disney Land both of them and had a good time at there! Disney resort is one of my favorite place so we talked a lot and they talked me many memories!!
Three kids are really friendly and soooo cute!!! They made us happy and always gave us cute smiling!
I really miss you and hope to see you again!!

This is Dominique and Audrey.

They are from Paris but their hometown is "Reunion Island", French territory.
It's east of the Africa continent, in the Indian Ocean and close to the equator so apparently it's warm all year around!!
I didn't know that there is such as an beautiful and tiny Island!

They were here at the Andon for 5 nights and after that left for Kyoto!
I saw beautiful architectures at many shrines and temples with colored leaves and enjoyed food in Kyoto a week ago before they leave,
so I hope that they will have nice trip in Kyoto too : )

When they were at lounge in Andon they gave me a Japanese sweet because they got too much : )

"Happy Honeymoon!"

They were happiness itself!!
I'd like to introduce a nice couple from England for a monthly guest of October.
Gareth & Christa came to Japan for their honeymoon. When I was talking with them during their stay at Andon, I always felt really happy and comfortable. I thought, because their happiness was infectious to me! and also I was very interested in British culture such as film, music, art and so on : )
They traveled to other cities in Japan as well and stayed at some luxurious hotels and Ryokan. They enjoyed experience of staying at many different kinds of hotels.
I want to visit England for my honeymoon someday,,,! Please let me know nice, unique accommodations in your country, Gareth-san, Christa-san : )

I would like to introduce very very cute couple from Finland.
"Ilmari" is quiet rare name but we know this name from famous Japanese pop musician so we talked about it and then we talked about their travel. They are traveling in Asia about one year and it was first country in Japan for them. They are really like tea and they bought tea pot and cups by themselves and enjoyed tea time in Andon lounge. I also joined their tea time and chatting. They travel with very cute mushroom doll. I really had a good time with them and I hope that they have good time for traveling in Asia.
I'm looking forward to hearing from their all of travel stories in Asia!

★Ms. Noora-san and Mr. Ilmari-san★

This is Natalia and Reto.
I found a nice sketchbook that he was writing something on it at lounge. And I asked him to see it and I found many beautiful and cute pictures on it. I really loved it because it's a nice creative book!! My sketch is pretty bad so I always respect people like him. He is graphic designer. I saw many different TIRUs on it. It had designed by him. Soooo cute!

And I found other lovely characters on the sketch book and he said that Natalia made it, then I knew that she's also graphic designer. Her drawing also very cute : )

"Flo and Ben"

I'd like to introduce friendly, handsome brothers from France, Flo and Ben, for a monthly guests of Sep.
Both of them were really friendly and resembled each other in appearance so I was bit confused at first..!
I really enjoyed talking with them during their stay. On the day before their departure, we had some nice green tea cake which they bought in Kyoto with some cup of tea together. It was a really pleasant time : ) Thanks so much.
I found that they looked like each other, but bit different in character. Flo was a very creative person and had a good sense of humor : ) Ben was rather interested in technical things and had the same taste of music as mine!
I was also very surprised to hear that Ben got married just 2 weeks ago in France,,! However, his brother, Flo invited him to travel for Japan,, and they were here! That's very interesting. He also said that he was planning to visit Thailand this winter holiday for their honeymoon : ) I hope they will have a nice time there.
I miss Flo and Ben! Hope to see you again : )

"Thomas and Timon"

They are father and son from Germany and stayed with us for 4 days.
Mr. Thomas was very friendly person so I enjoyed talking with him everyday. Timon also had cute, sociable face as you see the photo of him : )
They really enjoyed exploring many places in Tokyo happily everyday. They were also very interested in Japanese language. Timon asked me many questions about Japanese character and idiom. He must be a diligent person!
I hope to see them again in the future and hope to talk many things in Japanese or German then,,,!

I would like to introduce very cute and friendly French guests who are Mr.Baptiste and Mr.Alban.

They are studying Japanese very much and interesting Japanese culture and animation.
They gave us a very very nice present on their last stay in Japan.
Baptiste gave us beautiful rose. We talked before if man gave flower for women it is very romantic and nice but Japanese man do not do these things often.
He remembered our conversation and gave us flower!! It made us really happy.
Also Alban gave us very nice French wine and honey syrup from France!
I could not believe it that he brought from France these big stuff and gave us! We are really appreciate it and we also had a great time with them!!
We had a pasta party from Italian big guest during their stay in the Andon and they enjoyed this party with them too!

I hope to see you again and thank you for your company!!

☆They are from U.S.A.☆

This is Yu-Chen and Holly! They are from Wisconsin in U.S.A.
They stayed with us for few days first, after that they went to Mt. Fuji and then came back to Andon for 5 days : )

I have never been to Mt. Fuji but many guests go there.
He told me that “The sunrise from Mt. Fuji is so beautiful” seriously. And it made me really want to go there. His way of talking has persuasiveness!!

I also heard about Wisconsin. There is so much snow in winter, its freezing than Tokyo and winter season is very long etc...
I have been there once about 10years ago but it was in summer so I didn’t know that!

Apparently, she got a “Obi”. It’s a special belt for “Kimono”. So I want to see that she is wearing it!!

"Janneska and Jurjen"

I'd like to introduce one active couple from Netherland as a monthly guest of August.
They enjoyed traveling in Japan by bicycle for few weeks. We were so surprised because they came to Andon from the Narita airport by bicycle when they arrive Japan...!!How come!?

They had a special item to find the directions. The GPS looked very simple, but it's very smart and useful.
They could go everywhere they want with the smart, cute machine and their lovely bicycles : )
I need it for my life in Tokyo..!

They stayed in Andon for three nights and then traveled many area of Japan such as Hokkaido, Niigata, etc. by bicycle.
Few weeks later, they came back to Andon and stayed with us the last one night of their stay in Japan.
They were bronzed from the sun and looked very healthy and so happy : )

I hope to see you again some day, Janneska and Jurjen.

Yukata fashion with Andon guest!

There was Sumida river fire works on the 31st of July and some guests wore Yukata!
I worked on that day in Andon and I saw some guests went to there with Yukata!
Yukata is casual summer kimono usually made of cotton. People wearing yukata are a common sight in Japan at fireworks displays, festivals, and other summer events.

They fit yukata very well and enjoyed it very much!! It made me really happy.
Unfortunately I can not wear it by myself but I want to do it one day and help guest when they wear yukata!
Please try to wear yukata and go to Japanese festival on summer!!

"Bri-chan"

I'd like to introduce a cute Canadian girl, Brianne called Bri-chan and her father Mr.Donald as our monthly guests of July.
She was a athlete of trampoline and came to Japan for a competition. They stayed with us for 5 nights : )
They were very friendly and cheerful and always smiling. Bri-chan was also really interested in many things about Japan such as
food, music and conversational Japanese so she sometimes spoke to me in Japanese : )
During their stay, they went shopping to find a nice Yukata and they found,,! Look at the picture as above. The beautiful color and pattern really suited her and she looked very happy!

They stayed at Andon for 5 nights and checked-out once and then came back for 2nd stay for 5 nights!
"Johannes and Mariël"

They are very gentle couple and often come to lounge to have a cop of tea in the evening.
When they have a tea, they look so relaxed : )
This picture is one of that moment and also this night was the last day just before they go out for dinner.
It was kind of sad for me but they seemed enjoy their trip in Japan so I was really happy for that.

When I asked them to taking a picture she said "Yes of course" happily.
And he had a little shy smile but he look so cool, isn't he?

"Lovely Couple
This is a sweet couple from Hungary. They were staying at Andon for 8days on their honeymoon!
She is one of Totoro fan and when she found the Totoro(movie character) lifted it into her arms, immediately. It was so lovely!! Since then, when I see the Totoro I remember her : )
We have a stuffed toy Totoro next to the reception and many guests say ” I love Totoro! and then fold it like her. Of course, they enjoyed “Giburi Museum”.

He is always smiling and very friendly.
It was one of my pleasure to see him in the morning when he having breakfast with his wife!! They look so happy : )
And thank you very much for the Kaminariokoshi(Japanese sweet), it was very good ; )

"Mr.Klaus"

He is a doctor from Germany and came to Japan for the conerence at a Japanese hospital.
He stayed in Andon for a week and went to the conf. very early morning every day.
One day,he came back to Andon having nice Kobe brand beef because the hospital which he attended the meeting everyday was located near Tsukiji market,so he bought the Kobe beef and some vegetables there.
He cooked fine beef steak and some vegetable saute deftly at a kitchen in Andon.
He also bought a bottle of red wine at a supermarket near Andon and enjoyed nice dinner in a lounge : )
After dinner,he showed me some beautiful Japanese sweets which he found in Tsukiji as well.
He and I enjoyed the sweets with some cups of green tea as we had a long chat : )

I would like to introduce Anne-Sophie and Axelle from Parice in France
They are very cute French girls and liked Japanese foods.
We talked about French, Japanese, food and so on. I really had a great time with them.
Axelle bought Bento box in Japan! I heard from her that bento is quiet famouse in Frence but there are not many kind of Bento box. That's why she bought many kinds of bento box in here (*^-^*)
She gave me sweet mail with some bento's pictures after they checked out.
It made me really happy and then I was really surprised her bento....because it was very beautiful.
She must be good cook!!
It was nice picture of the Eiffel Tower with bento wasn't it !? I also want to eat bento at there oneday...

"Jirka and Marcel"

They were from the Czech Republic and stayed in Andon for 7 nights.
Jirka operated a tea shop in his country.One day around one year ago,Marcel came to his shop as a customer and they became friends! And they planned to visit Japan together!!

Jirka knoew much about various kinds of tea.When they took part in our tea ceremony,he could explain to other guests about details of Japanese tea ceremony such as history,schools and so on.His knowledge was larger than me,,,!?
He also had his own teathings and made some cups of green tea for us every evening. It was really tasty : )

In contrast,Marcel really liked espresso coffee,,! He also liked Sento(public bath) so he walked to a local Sento in Asakusa every evening : )

We enjoyed talking about many things as we were having two cups of green tea ehich Jirka mede and a cup of espresso coffee every evening : )
I miss you and your tea ceremony,Jirka and Marcel.

"Marijana and Aneta"

I'm going to introduce two extremely friendly,cheerful women from London!
Marijana and Aneta always enjoyed talking to other guests and Andon staffs very familiarlly in a lounge every morning : ) Their cheerful smiles and jokes made us so happy!

After staying in Andon for 7 nights,they travelled to Kyoto for few days.They showed me some photos when they came back.They wore beautiful Kimono and made up their face by theirself.They put some mascara with their lips,,!They looked former Japanese women : )It was so cute!

They made friends with a Swiss guest,Didier in an accommodation in Kyoto and introduce Andon to him. He were coming to stay in Andon few days later and he was also very very nice person!!

03I would like to introduce Lea and her mother from France!
They were stayed in Andon for 5nights and they liked Andon so they returned and stayed in here again for 2nights after Kyoto traveling!
I was very happy to meet them when they came back from Kyoto.
I really liked their smile and it made me happy!
We talked a lot of things and she showed me picture of house garden because she really like flowers.
They liked andon flowers arrangements very much!
Always Andon's flower are arranged by owner so I would like to tell her and she must be happy to hear it ;)

Lea already traveled in Japan in November of the last year with her friend.
She told me that she really like Japan and wanted to travel with her mother.
I feel happy to hear from her.

03This is Mr.and Mrs. Gourley from Vancouver.
We took this photo in the morning after breakfast. Luckily, andon staffs joined because another guest kindly took us. Thank you very much!

When I preparing for breakfast, he explained about building materials of Andon such as woods, screws and more. He is very familiar with such a thing and He were watching carefully inside of Andon. And after that he told us that he is a carpenter! I see ; )
Every morning, he showed up at lounge, had some coffee and talked with other guests untill his wife gets ready for breakfast : )

When she appeared at lounge I felt a homely feel. I think, it because her grandmother is a Japanese. She always talked to us just like a mother. She also speaks Japanese.
They stayed at Andon for 4nights first and went to Kyoto, then came back to Andon for 2 nights. They seemed really enjoyed their stay in Kyoto too.
We enjoyed talking with them everyday, we miss you so much!!

But she said that she'll be back sometime!! We are waiting for you, Thank you so much : )

「Mrs.Ella & Mr.Gad」
I'm going to introduce a nice couple from Israel : )
First,they were very fashionable.Look at the picture.Ella had such a beautiful green hair and always had some lovely bracelet with her wrist.I'm a big fan of Michal Negrin which is a jewelry brand from Israel so we were chatting about it : )
They also talked about their family to me.They bought a Japanese traditional kite"Tako" and a picture book of "Alice in wonderland" in Japanese edition for their grand-children.They also bought a men's comic magazine"Jump" which was very popular with Japanese young men for their son.
They theirself were great readers for Japanese literature.Ella always read Haruki Murakami's works in a lounge as she was having a cup of tea : )
Gad wore a beautiful Japanese antique vest which was worn by a staff at Miso shop in the past..!He got it at an antique shop in Nagano.He had breakfast as he was wearing the vest.It looked so cool..!
I hope to see you again in the future,Ella and Gad.

I would like to introduce for "François Sandra and PANE " in this month :)

They are very nice and kind couple from France.
Mr. Pane tried to speak Japanese all of times and his Japanese is very well.

Did you remember the Island volcano? Many people were canceled and stopled their flight and upset about it.
This guest also was canceled their flight and came back to the Andon.
They stayed five more days in here.
I worried about that their memories to be bad as this trouble, but they had enjoyable staying in Tokyo again.
Of course we also had a good time with them :)

We got this mail from Pane and Sandra when they back home.
We really glad to hear from them.

03They are from Paris. "Pascale family"
At first, they supposed check-in on the 18th of April but they arrived on the 26th of April.
They had to change their schedule many times because the volcano in Island. Many other guests also had to change when it happend. So they were one of them.

They visited not only Tokyo but also Kyoto, Nara and one of Ogasawara islands which is called Chichi-jima.
And the end of their travel they came back to Andon but they didn't sure that they are coming back for 2nd stay when they leave because their flight was still uncertain so when I get their e-mail for 2nd reservation I was so happy : )

I really loved that when their daughters choosing which room going to stay and they were wearing raincoat when it's rainy and I also can't forget that I heared "Arigato" after the breakfast. I couldn't stop smiling : ) so cute!

I got e-mail from them the other day and got Paris safely but apparently, it's cold like 9 degrees celsius in the morning! Here in Tokyo, it's like a summer, already!!
Please take care of your self ; ) Thank you very much!!

"Nadine & Holger"

I'm going to introduce an unforgettable couple from Germany for a monthly guest for March.
They got married last year and travelled to Japan for their honeymoon.

They stayed at Andon for 11days : )They were always very calm and smiling sweetly to each other and also to us.However it was terribly busy,I was very conforted when I saw their smile in a lounge every day : )
They were also very curious and adventurous.They tried to have some local dishes such as Natto(!) at a small local restaurant,and then they prefered visiting local commonplaces than sightseen spots.They really liked Yanaka area and I used to live there so we were chatting about attractions of towns in Germany and Japan for a long time on the previous night of their deperture. It was a pleasant time for me : )
During their stay,we had a new item of silocon mold for breakfast and served them some egg dishes made by the item first.Although it wa bit shapless because it was our first try to use it,they enjoyed it and made a request it next day morning,,,!
We will practice making a fine egg dishes with the mold for your next stay with us!

I would like to introduce lovely guest in this month.

We were surprised when they arrived in here soon because they have suddenly presented us the chocolate from Italy!!
They said that "thank you very much for gave to us many informations by e-mail"
It's sooo sweet!!!
Our boss always said that it is starting their travel when they make reservation by e-mail in home, so it is very important to respond to them and have a good communications in advance.
I understand this meaning very well and I am really glad to hearing from them very much.

They are very friendly and made friends soon :)
They are really like "Studio Ghibli films" and were happily spoken to me how it liked ;)
Of corse they went to Ghibli museum and bought a lot of souvenirs!
They had 2nd reservation in here and we talked about their traveling in Kyoto, Ghibli and a lot of things when they came back to the andon again.
I got a surprise present again from them!!! They gave us "PONYO doll!" from Ghibli Museum!!
We already decorated "Totoro" and "cat-bas" dolls in Andon so I put it together with them.

Please check their lovely gift when you visit to the Andon!

French group from China?

They are French but from Chengdu, Sichuan in China.
(Alain, Laureline, Emmanuel and Christiane)
At first, I thought they are family or relatives from France because when I see them just like a family, always look happy and having fun together but they are not even just friends, they are colleagues! They work in China. In China, February is more important than January for the New Year and they were on vacation.

When I heard Chengdu I had no idea where it is but they understand Chinese so showed me the city in Kanji like(成都)and Laureline talked about an experience the big earthquake in Chengdu about 2years ago. Then I remembered the city.

I’m very interested in French and love music so kindly they recommended me many famous French singers. Merci beaucoup : ) I wanted talk more with them!!

★Edward and Kelly Elliott From England★

Nice couple came here in Andon!
They are Edward and Kelly from England.
I really had a enjyoyable time to talk with them because they are very friendly and made us happy during stay in here!!
Edward got a beautiful tatoo in Japan and it looks like Japanese garden tree in his upper arm.

They stayed in Andon for a week and then go to the Nikko.
However they are coming back in here again!
We are really happy to stay with them again (^▽^)

They are traveling four countries and it was 2nd county in Japan.
They went to Thai Land and will go to the New Zealand and U.S.A after Japan.
I heard great their travel planning at next countries! They will rent a car and travel around there.
Sounds nice!!!!

I sincerely hope you have an enjoyable stay in next country too!!

"Four Kiwis☆"
I'm going to introduce four young New Zealand guys,Jas,Mike,Troy and Tim for monthly guests in Feb!
I met them first on the day subsequent to their arrival in Andon.They were extremely friendly and had cute winsome smiles : ) It was freezing and started to snow in that evening..!They and I had some Japanese dishes for late dinner together in a lounge. They tought me some Kiwi slangs at table. It was a pleasant time : )
They really enjoyed sightseeing and shopping by rental bicycles in the daytime and also enjoyed drinking every evening..! After staying at Andon for few days,they moved to Hakuba for snowboading and I really missed them!

However,two weeks later,Tim came back and stayed with us another for two nights : )He told me many stories of his traveling in Nagano and Hokkaido.It was so funny!! He got lost in the Maiko highland and was wondering around there for a while,but finally he met young Japanese couple and they took him to a lodging.
He also lost his mate in Sapporo city and he had nothing at that time,,!When he was in a hopeless plight,he suddnly found a small matchbox which was written the name of hotel he stayed..! What's more,he lost his passport in Roppongi and when he called New Zealand embassy,the staff was his father's friend,,,!He didn't know that!
He said that Good luck always followed Bad luck in his life : )

He also showed me lots of beautiful photos of his home town in New Zealand.
I thought his naturally,sunny personality was cultivated by the environment in such a beautiful country.
I really want to visit New Zealand someday.

「Sakura and Sascha」
They are parent and child from Sydney and stayed at Andon around for 2 weeks!
Sascha was a very smart and sociable girl. She talked to many other guests in a lounge every morning as she having cheese omelet : ) Her mother Sakura was a jeweler and very,very friendly,too.
They visited Hokkaido few days during their stay and Sakura broke her arm inSapporo..!That's too bad! Even Sakura struggled with her broken arm,Sascha always helped her out and they were smiling all the time : )
I really enjoyed chatting with them during their stay.Sascha tought me some English pronunciations,but I couldn't pronounce "Woories"...!!
Sakura had a Japanese back ground and she found her relatives two days before her departure day. She saw her cousin after an interval of 40years..!It was amazing : )
